田邊至 Tanabe Itaru
日本 1886-1968
生於日本東京都。師事於黑田清輝，1910年東京美術學校西洋畫科畢業後，於該校擔任助教、副教授等職。自1907年第一回文展開始，每年皆持續參展，1922年起以文部省外派研究員的身分前往歐洲進修兩年；並於1928年至1944年期間擔任東京美術學校西洋畫科教授。田邊至從投入繪畫創作起，就以文展、帝展這樣的官辦畫展作為作品發表的場域。田邊至畫風的特徵為沉穩扎實的筆法，除了風景畫之外，他也擅長描繪豐腴的女性畫像。
Japanese 1886-1968
Born in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating from the Western Painting Department of the Tokyo Art School in 1910, he worked as an assistant professor and associate professor there. He continued to participate in exhibitions every year since the first Bunka exhibition in 1907, and in 1922 he went to Europe for two years as a researcher sent by the Ministry of Education. From 1928 to 1944, he was a professor of Western painting at the Tokyo Fine Arts School. From the time he began to paint, he used official exhibitions such as the Bunka and Teikoku exhibitions as a venue for his works. In addition to landscapes, he also specialised in portraits of voluptuous women.
